Summer 2022 Lab Updates

Getting a research lab up and running is an exciting and daunting task. Fortunately, I’ve had some great lab members to work with during my first year + a few months as an assistant professor! And I’m excited to welcome some new members into our lab this fall 🙂 I’ll keep this quite brief and just highlight a few firsts from the past year.

The first manuscript from work in our lab was published in Food Chem.

The first oral and poster presentations from our lab debuted at IFT FIRST 2022 in Chicago! Vanessa was selected as a finalist for the Food Chemistry Division Graduate Student Oral Competition. She presented her work in oral format virtually and in person, as well as in poster format! Dr. Nan Li presented her poster virtually. And our first lab “graduate”. Dr. Nan Li completed her postdoc in our lab, and moved on to Colgate-Palmolive as a research scientist.
